Performance & Fitment Features:

• High-Voltage Winding: Special 100:1 windings are used to provide maximum voltage build-up, housed in a premium-grade oil-filled metal canister for thermal management.

• CRITICAL MOUNTING WARNING: This is an oil-filled coil. It MUST be mounted in a VERTICAL (upright) position. If mounted horizontally, the internal oil will shift, exposing the windings. This will cause the coil to overheat, fail catastrophically, and void all warranties. (If your application requires horizontal mounting, you must purchase the Epoxy-filled High Vibration Coil, MSD PN: 8222).

• Important Electrical Warning (Non-MSD Systems): If you are installing this coil on a classic points-style distributor or a factory electronic ignition system that does NOT have a dedicated MSD Ignition Control Box (like the 6AL), you MUST wire a 0.8 Ohm ballast resistor (MSD PN: 8214) in series on the positive coil wire. Failing to install the resistor will instantly melt the points or destroy the factory ignition module.
