Performance & Fitment Features:
-
High-Output E-Core Design: Engineered with segmented bobbins and encased in Ciba polyurethane to eliminate the risk of voltage breakdown and provide extreme resistance to engine vibration (far superior to traditional oil-filled canister coils).
-
MSD System Synergy: Designed to be the perfect companion for MSD 6-Series, 7-Series, and AL-Series Ignition Controls, delivering massive spark energy for high-compression and forced-induction engines.
-
Important Installation Warning (Non-MSD Systems): This coil features an ultra-low primary resistance (0.355 Ohms). If you are installing this coil on a points-style distributor or a factory electronic ignition system that does NOT have a dedicated MSD Ignition Control Box, you MUST wire a 0.8 Ohm ballast resistor (MSD PN: 8214) in series on the positive coil wire. Failing to install the resistor will instantly destroy your factory ignition module and melt the coil.
-
Mounting Protocol: Includes vibration isolators. Do not over-torque the mounting hardware or mount the coil directly to exhaust components.
Federal Emissions Compliance (CARB):
-
Emissions Code: 1
-
CARB EO Number: D-40-37
-
Status: This part is strictly legal for sale, installation, and street use on Emissions Controlled Vehicles in all 50 US states, including California, when used in accordance with the manufacturer's application guide.
Disclaimer & Warranty Information: Onyx Customs FL acts exclusively as an authorized retailer of high-performance automotive components. We do not manufacture this product. Ignition coils operate under lethal high-voltage conditions (up to 40,000 Volts). Improper installation, failing to use a ballast resistor on unsupported factory systems, or using incompatible spark plug wires will result in severe electrical shock, catastrophic ECU failure, or total ignition system meltdown. Onyx Customs FL assumes no liability for direct or indirect damages, electrical fires, or diagnostics costs resulting from the purchase or incorrect use of this component. All manufacturing defects, technical support, and warranty claims are strictly the responsibility of, and must be directed to, MSD Ignition (Holley Performance). We strictly mandate that all high-voltage electrical components be installed and calibrated by a certified professional automotive electrician.
